Do you know what is going on in that 2nd picture? Does water seep out between layers of rock there or is there a ledge where water collects and then run off? Zooming in, I guess it does look like there is a ledge, but that doesn't really explain the source of the water. I guess snow could accumulate on the ledge and then the melt water could refreeze.
Well, whatever is going on, it looks pretty cool!

I honestly don't know for sure. There is no stream or other water source marked on the map. However before it got cold again it was raining into the already melting snowcover. I'm guessing that the water comes from a combination of heavy rain and melting snow. I haven't been to this place before so I don't know whether the ice is there every winter.

😂 Honestly I like my pictures at a somewhat higher resolution.
