This is what our overnight train to Hamburg looked like:
And this is what Hamburg looked like:
All a bit confusing thanks to the German railways. #

No, instead of taking the overnight train to Hamburg we flew from Zurich to Copenhagen. Now we're on a train to Aalborg and then to Hirtshals where we're back on our originally planned route.

Our train just stopped in Arhus and we have to change because it was late and didn't continue to Aalborg. Our trip continues to go extremely well, especially when it comes to trains.

Not that I'm not already aware that Switzerland has one of the best public transport networks world-wide, events like these are just confirmation. Today isn't that bad because all we need it to get to Hirtshals today (or tomorrow morning for that matter). This should easily work out, no matter how late the trains are.

I'm starting to belive you're right. It's the same every time I try to get somewhere in Germany by train. So, I'll add Denmark to my list where I should avoid trains for everyones sake.

Weeeell, guess what I did when I booked the ferry and the trains to Denmark. I left a 24h buffer, just in case to be sure to make it. Then the Germans go in strike for two days....
