I rode a stretch of the national Swiss cycling routes 3 and 4, which is also part of Eurovelo 5. Nowadays part of this route has been closed for bicycles - that's how we deal with cycling infrastructure around here. Currently the only way to cycle the strech legally is to use a #unicycle....

@Thomas I think they had to, because of the official Swiss and Eurpean cycle routes going through there. Otherwise they wouldn't have, I'm sure. From my experience, official cycling routes tend to be better in Germany than in Switzerland. But that's only the official routes, I can't say what it's like on other roads.

Anyhow this leaves us with the funny situation that there is no way to directly cycle from Kanton of Schwyz to the neighboring Kanton of Uri, unless you have some mountain biking skills and are willing to add more than 500m of altitude gain. Of course you could take a detour over Pragel- and Klausenpass, which can be done on a road bike - for an additional 60km an 2900m of vertical gain.

@lotfi You can't tell from this angle but there are steps leading into the lake. The bicycle would only fall onto those.

Someone convinced me that it is more sustainable to repair my fairphone 2 or get a used phone and throw /e/ on it. So I decided to repair my Fairphone but get a secondary used phone just in case it completely breaks down.

That's why I was able to come home from today's ride with some pictures. I decided to roam into the flatter parts of Switzerland to check whether they still belong to our country. It's been a while that I left my valley. #cycling

@jezra I came across a couple who was just jumping into the lake when I passed. At around -1 °C air temparature. I decided to postpone this until spring.

@Thomas I had to look it up: You told me to repair it and I don't remember who said I could as well get a second hand phone, but by all my love for Fairphone, as someone who mostly buys phones and laptops second hand it felt a bit unnecessary to produce a new phone just for me to use if I could as well get a used one.

@Urs Naegeli Ich habe meine erster Bauart gesucht und nicht mehr gefunden. Hab sie vermutlich entsorgt. Wie viel möchtest du für eine? Wäre durchaus interessiert, da ich mich entschieden habe, dass es sich nicht lohnt, eine neue zu bestellen, da das Handy auch sonst etwas zickt.

Today I realized that the reason that I lost more pictures of unicycles than of bicycles is that I don't like getting off to take the picture. With unicycles you have to eventually dismount somewhere - voluntarily or not. #cycling

@theru TBH it mostly happens either uphill or downhill on a mountain trail. Guess where I regularly hurt myself, even though I wear more protection gear than on the mountain bike.
